How did you discover your passion for comedy:
Being a Stand-up Comedian has been a dream of mine since I was a child. It sounds corny, but watching Stand-up Comedy has always been an outlet for me when I’m going through a hard time. Are parents getting divorced? Put on a special. Your Fiance dumped you? Put on a special. Neighborhood cat didn’t come to up you after 2 minutes of saying “pspspspsps”? Put on a special. And so on and so forth. And now I get to do the same thing but actually be the comedian on stage, and hopefully, someday I’ll be the one that someone listens to temporarily distract them from their own struggles.

What do you remember most about your first time performing stand-up comedy:
My first time performing was terrible, it was an open mic at a dive bar in Concord, CA, I had no material written at all and bombed horribly in front of 12 people looking directly into my soul, after 45 seconds of mumbling up there I Enthusiastically said “that’s my time for tonight, Goodnight!” and all I got were blank stares and claps quieter than a couple with a newborn baby sleeping in their arms.

How would you describe your comedic style:
My comedic style can vary from high energy and low energy bits about personal experiences, random thoughts, and general Observations put into a frenzy of Short stories and one-liners.

Describe your process for comedic writing:
My writing process always begins when I’m driving, not by choice, but for some reason that’s when my best ideas come to me, I’ll then start shouting at Siri to open notes on my phone until I get irritated and decide to do it myself, then I’ll quickly jot down the idea so that later on that day I can go back to it and begin to expand on that topic.

Describe the comedy scene in your area:
The comedy scene in my area can seem very hostile from a distance (I.E. on any social media platform) but when the comedians actually get together in person and not on Facebook, it can be incredibly tight-knit, friendly, and supportive.

How do you judge success in the world of comedy:
Success in the comedy world to me is going on tour and filling a room full of people that are there to see you.

Who are some of your comedic peers that you enjoy watching perform or inspire you personally and professionally:
That would definitely have to be Zach Lord and Jeremy “Worm” Jones.

What’s been your most memorable moment in comedy:
One time someone started face-timing their friend and talking very loudly in the middle of my set. I’ll never forget that.

What have you learned most from your failures in comedy:
I’ve learned that some audiences will straight up not like you or your style of comedy, and that’s okay, they’re just not your target audience.

How do people react towards you when they realize that you can make people laugh:
The first thing they always say is “tell me a joke”, followed by their disappointment because I’m not about to tell some 2-minute joke to someone in the middle of the day just so they can say “Oh yeah, I get it”

Describe what it’s been like building a career in stand-up comedy:
It’s the most humbling, fearful, exciting, and fun thing I’ve ever put my efforts into because ultimately it may or may not go anywhere in the long term. But I’m here for the journey to see what comes of it.

Best advice you’ve ever received from a comedian:
Record everything, find a comedy club to call “home” and focus on building one five-minute set at a time.

If you were releasing a comedy special this week, what would it be called:
“Professional Failure”

Weirdest place you’ve ever performed any form of comedy:
I told my boss about a fundraiser show I was producing and wanted him to help spread the word throughout the company so I can get more people to show, and during a meeting, he told me to tell a joke in front of all of my coworkers…the joke bombed and now I have to see those people on a regular basis.

A Jordan Kirchner’s Fun Fact:
I grew up as an obese child and didn’t lose my virginity until I was 18 and serving in the Marine Corps. When I lost it, it got cut short because someone threw firecrackers into the room and our barracks duty came in and kicked her out of the barracks because it was past midnight and there were too many “loud noises”, unfortunately, the loud noises were just the firecrackers, and had nothing to do with my performance.

Where would you like your laughs to take you:
My ultimate goal is to be able to tour around the country selling out venues.

What would you tell a potential comedian if they ask you how they can own the laughs:
Play with your jokes and the crowd a little bit, it allows you to be a little looser and less scripted on stage.

What are your thoughts on the future of comedy:
It’s going to get better because we have way more things to make fun of now.

If you could write one episode for one classic TV sitcom which show would it be and give a brief detailed sentence on the episode:
I’d like to write an episode of The Office where the cameras follow the day in the life of Creed Bratton, and I’d want to give it a slight horror aspect considering Creed’s ambiguous Background with the possibility of him being a murderer.

If you could choose 1 comedy club and 3 comedians to perform with on your perfect comedy show, how would it go:
The Comedy Store in LA with Mark Normand, Bobby Lee, and Tom Segura headlining with myself hosting.

What’s next for you:
As of right now, dinner. After that, dessert.

Why should a person always laugh at life:
On average we have about 70-80 years on this earth, do you really want to spend that time being bitter and not laughing? Sounds lame to me. Anything can be funny if you put the right twist on it.
