One of social media’s most popular comedians passed away Monday evening at the young age of 22.
Stockton, California’s Heuy Haha was a comedic content creator for Instagram, Tik-Tok, and YouTube with millions of viral video views.
“Rest In Peace to Huey Ha,” a post on his official Instagram reads. “Huey Ha passed away October 25, 2021. He loved and appreciated every single one of his supporters.”
His official cause of death has not yet been revealed, and his flourishing TikTok account — where he racked up more than 4.5 million views — has been deleted, the Independent reported.
The social media star first appeared on the digital scene two years ago. He often sported a blinged-out grill and became known for posting hundreds of short-form comedy bits online. In addition to his massive TikTok audience, Huey amassed nearly 450,000 subscribers on YouTube and more than 200,000 Instagram followers. Rumors of his death first spread online Wednesday, with fan and peer tributes flooding multiple platforms until he became a trending topic on Twitter.
As of Thursday morning, a GoFundMe launched by his friend Coby JDN had generated more than $32,700 in donations to cover funeral costs and support Huey’s 2-year-old daughter.
Huey joins a disturbing trend of young online personalities with millions of followers who’ve lost their lives in recent months, from 19-year-old Gabriel Salazar’s fiery fatal car crash after a police chase to 18-year-old Timbo the Redneck’s “Big Booty” truck tragedy.
