How did you discover your passion for comedy:
I was always into comedy watching it as a child and my passion grew from there.

What do you remember most about your first time performing stand-up comedy:
I was extremely nervous. I was up the entire night before. However, my performance went great.

How would you describe your comedic style:
Animated storyteller

Describe your process for comedic writing:
I tend to write in two different types of environments. One is in a quiet room with topics pre-selected. The other is amongst other comedians during a collab writing session.

Describe the comedy scene in your area:
Many known comedians come from the DMV area. However, most comedians in this area are finding their own groove; but nobody is making too much noise/impact.

How do you judge success in the world of comedy:
Success in the comedy world is measured by how much of a lasting impression you leave in a room, whether they remember what you said, who you are, or retain any jokes.

Who are some of your comedic peers that you enjoy watching perform or inspire you personally and professionally:
Pap, Lawrence Owens, and Chico Bean.

What’s been your most memorable moment in comedy:
My most memorable moment in comedy was the first time I received a standing ovation after a performance. I felt overwhelmed with love and appreciation. At that moment, I knew all my hard work was not in vain.

What have you learned most from your failures in comedy:
I learned that there are multiple ways to navigate a joke to make it successful with the crowd.

How do people react towards you when they realize that you can make people laugh:
When people realize that I am funny, their first response is a surprise. Given that I come from social media, they think that my humor is only meant for the internet. However, once they experience my approach to comedy, they are supportive and engage with my jokes.

Describe what it’s been like building a career in stand-up comedy:
Building a career in comedy (on and off the stage) has been an emotional rollercoaster ranging from nerves to calm to joy.

If you could change one thing in the world of comedy, what would it be:
I would change what many people consider “The Cancel Culture.” Everyone has experienced life differently thus carry different views on life. When people “cancel” comedians, it makes it hard for them to joke about what they perceive to be funny and limits their creativity.

Best advice you’ve ever received from a comedian:
The best advice I received from a comedian is to “be yourself comedy” and remember it is all about your point of view.

If you were releasing a comedy special this week, what would it be called:
“Toxic”

Funniest encounter you’ve ever had with a celebrity:
While filming a movie, Donnell Rollins got mad at an actor, throwing his wine bottle down and breaking it during the middle of a scene.

Weirdest place you’ve ever performed any form of comedy:
In the basement of a house.

A Terry Jones Fun Fact:
I am a twin

Where would you like your laughs to take you:
I hope my journey as a comedian, gives me the opportunity to own a comedy club and have a sketch comedy show.

What would you tell a potential comedian if they ask you how they can own the laughs:
Be completely and utterly yourself!

What are your thoughts on the future of comedy:
I believe the future of comedy will be amazing, especially because I’ll be a part of it.

If you could write one episode for one classic TV sitcom which show would it be and give a brief detailed sentence on the episode:
Martin; The episode would be about his long-lost brother and his little sibling who also does comedy and is in competition with him because he gets more love.

If you could choose 1 comedy club and 3 comedians to perform with on your perfect comedy show, how would it go:
I would love to collaborate with Martin, Eddie Murphy, and Katt Williams at the Boom Boom Room.

What’s next for you:
My next step is to create and produce my own comedy special.

Why should a person always laugh at life:
Honestly, laughing is better than crying. Laughter is good for the heart!.
