Eric Andre Joins HBO’s “The Righteous Gemstones”

Eric Andre has officially signed on for recurring roles in the upcoming second season of HBO‘s hit comedy series The Righteous Gemstones. Production on the new 9-episode season is currently underway after more than a year since they had wrapped up its first season in 2019.

Andre is set to play the role of Lyle Lissons, described as a megachurch pastor from Texas who befriends Danny McBride’s Jesse and Cassidy Freeman’s Amber.

The Righteous Gemstones tells the story of a world-famous televangelist family with a long tradition of deviance, greed, and charitable work. Well into the second generation of a grand televangelist tradition, the renowned Gemstone family is living proof that worship pays dividends in all sizes, including their megachurch. Danny McBride stars as Jesse Gemstone, the eldest of three grown Gemstone offspring, who looks to lead in his father’s footsteps but finds his past sins jeopardizing the family ministry.

The cast also includes John Goodman as Eli Gemstone, a renown preacher known for his weekly television show, global ministries, and aggressive salvation techniques; Adam DeVine as Eli’s youngest son, Kelvin who has a rebellious nature all his own; and Edi Patterson as Judy Gemstone, Eli’s daughter. Judy, the middle child, who often feels underestimated by her family.

It also stars Walton Goggins, Cassidy Freeman, Tony Cavalero, Tim Baltz, Greg Alan Williams, Dermot Mulroney, and Jennifer Nettles.
