Fox has ordered the single-camera comedy “Pivoting” for its 2021-2022 broadcast season lineup.
The half-hour series stars Eliza Coupe, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Maggie Q as three women dealing with the death of their childhood best friend. Faced with the reality that life is short, in desperate attempts to find happiness, they make a series of impulsive, ill-advised and self-indulgent decisions, strengthening their bond proving it’s never too late to screw up your life.
The series also stars Tommy Dewey, JT Neal, and Marcello Julian Reyes. Liz Astrof serves as writer and executive with Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor of Kapital Entertainment also executive producing. Tristram Shapeero directed and executive produced the pilot. Warner Bros. Television and Fox Entertainment produce along with Kapital.
“Pivoting” is the latest series pickup Fox has made for next season going into upfronts. Last week, the network ordered the drama “The Cleaning Lady” starring Elodie Yung and the county music drama “Monarch.” Other pickups include the dramedy series “The Big Leap,” an animated comedy set in ancient Greece from Dan Harmon, the drama “Our Kind of People” from Karin Gist and Lee Daniels, and the mockumentary series “This County.”
