FXX has released the full trailer for the upcoming second season of their popular sitcom Dave, starring rapper Lil Dicky as he finds himself struggling with writer’s block. The video features the titular rapper as he struggles with coming up with new song ideas for his album while trying to deal with the pressures of succeeding and dating apps. It also teases a few of its upcoming guest stars including Kendall Jenner, Hailey Bieber, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. The series will be making its return on June 16 on FXX with a two-episode premiere, then new episodes available each subsequent week.
Based on the life of rapper and comedian Dave Burd (stage name Lil Dicky), FXX’s Dave centers around a neurotic man in his late twenties who has convinced himself that he’s destined to be one of the best rappers of all time. Now he must convince his closest friends because with their help he actually might convince the world.
In the second season, Dave knows he’s destined for rap superstardom – but at what cost? With the pressure mounting as he records his debut album, he has to decide if he’ll sacrifice friendships, love, and his own sense of self in order to make his dream come true. Simultaneously exasperating and inspiring to his friends, Dave vows to leave no stone unturned on his quest to become the next superstar.
