Neal Brennan is following up his successful 2016 Off-Broadway run of 3 Mics, which begat a 2017 Netflix special, with a new one-man show. This is Unacceptable.

It’ll open Aug. 25, 2021, at the Cherry Lane Theatre in New York City’s West Village, with a limited run scheduled of six weeks, through Sept. 9. Derek DelGaudio (In and Of Itself) directs Brennan this time around.

Brennan’s Tweet today described it simply so far as “Stand-up w/ personal, emotional stuff.”

Need more info? A show description reads: “What do you do with the parts of yourself people don’t like? In a new theatrical stand-up show, Neal Brennan explores his own inability to fit into a tribe and the alienation that comes along with it.”

Unacceptable is produced by Vanessa Lauren and Jake Friedman, with scenic design by Anna Louizos, lighting design by Adam Blumenthal.
