Hulu has ordered a brand new comedy pilot from Steve Levitan and John Enbom, with Keegan-Michael Key and Johnny Knoxville set to star in the project.
According to a report from Variety, the pilot — titled Reboot — will see Hulu deciding to reboot an early 2000’s family sitcom. The dysfunctional cast of the show is then forced back together and must deal with their various unresolved issues in the midst of rebooting the television show.
Levitan not only created the show, but will serve as executive producer, showrunner, and writer of the pilot. Levitan and Enbom wrote the pilot teleplay, and Enbom will serve as writer and executive producer on the series. Danielle Stokdyk will also executive producer. 20th Television will serve as the studio behind the project as well, having an overall deal with Levitan.
Perhaps most famously, Levitan is known for creating the hit comedy Modern Family, which ran for 11 seasons and 250 episodes. The series won 22 Emmy Awards during its run, including five separate wins for best comedy series. Levitan is also behind the hit NBC sitcom Just Shoot Me!, and also has credits on The Larry Sanders Show, Wings, Frasier, and Greg the Bunny.
