Donald Glover surprised fans on Halloween night by dropping a new Atlanta trailer for its long-awaited third season set to be released on FX in 2022.
Premiering September 6th, 2016, Atlanta quickly became one of the most influential TV shows of the 21st century upon its debut. In a brief look at the upcoming season, various shots of what looks to be Europe — where the third season was filmed — was shown, along with spooky dialogue that continues to iterate that “it’s after the end of the world,” before finally showing Brian Tyree Henry’s Alfred “Paper Boi” Miles seated at a chair, while two women stand behind him facing the wall.
Atlanta tells the story of two cousins named Earn Marks and Alfred “Paper Boi” Miles. Glover stars as Earn, who is a Princeton dropout who now manages his cousin’s burgeoning rap career. He along with his cousin is trying to find their way to the top of the local rap scene, all the while dealing with the many real and absurd troubles black folk face in the city.
