Who actually says they’re in a relationship anymore?
To help find the reasoning to this question, dating influencer, TV writer, comedian, and ex-commitment-phobe, Natasha Chandel sits down with comedic guests to break down various dating topics as part of her weekly dating podcast entitled Kinda Dating.
Knowing what it’s like to be funny acting in love and comedy, Chandel was a writer on season two of the Netflix comedy series Mr. Iglesias starring Gabriel Iglesias. The versatile actress and improviser have been in Comedy Central’s Man Up, CBS’ Seal Team, Hulu’s The Mindy Project, HBO’s How to Make it in America, CBC’s 11 Cameras and MVP. Natasha is a graduate of UCB improv, and received a UCB Diversity Scholarship. In theater, Natasha was lead in the sold-out comedy play Brown’s 3-4 and has been in multiple runs of the acclaimed Vagina Monologues, among others.
Previous guests vary from New York Times best-selling author Mark Manson, global comedian Russell Peters, expert therapist Nerda Glover Tawwab, actor James Kyson, social media influencer Hayley Herms, America’s Got Talent’s Gina Brillon, all the way to Natasha’s own parents.
A lighthearted podcast that often goes deep (no pun intended), Kinda Dating has been featured as a top dating and sex podcast in AskMen, Bustle, Refinery29, Elite Daily and more! It was also selected as an iTunes New & Noteworthy podcast.
In this week’s episode, Natasha is joined by special guest comedian Bill Dawes as the two help us reframe the past to be something we are thankful for. They look at the things they learned from their past “failures,” and share a practical look at the concept of forgiving and forgetting. It’s a heartfelt, touching episode of Kinda Dating!
Bill Dawes is an actor, comic, and writer. As an actor, Dawes has appeared in several award-winning independent films, including Adam, Evenhand, and Fiona. He’s had starring roles in two MGM Studio children’s films—Just for Kicks and Recipe for Disaster—and an acting role in the DVD cult hit I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell.
On TV, Bill has been on several hit shows, including Law and Order, Rizzoli and Isles, Sex and the City, OZ, and Criminal Intent. As a stage actor, Bill’s first role was on Broadway with Sigourney Weaver and Christopher Durang in the play Sex and Longing. He was notably on Broadway in the hit Tony-nominated production of LOMBARDI, where he played a lead role as Green Bay Packer legend Paul Hornung, the “Golden Boy.” He also starred as Mickey Mantle in the MLB-produced Broadway production Bronx Bombers. But don’t be fooled by his boyish looks, Dawes’ comedy pushes boundaries. His high-energy delivery mixes taboo subjects with comedy we can all relate to, making his show a non-stop barrage of laughter you won’t soon forget. He has performed all over the U.S. and the world, including tours of Canada, Hong Kong, the Philippines, and South Africa. As part of the USO, he has performed for coalition forces in Iraq and Kuwait in front of crowds of over 8,000 international troops at bases in Baghdad.
He has more videos than any other comedian on the Laugh Factory YouTube channel and hosts a Laugh Factory podcast called The After Laugh.
