Starting July 19th, 2022, Starburns Audio will be home to The Blackout Diaries, a new weekly podcast hosted by comedians Sean Bair-Flannery (Comedy Central, NPR) and C.J. Sullivan (Comedy Central, World Series of Poker), who have about 30 years of comedy experience and 800 missed flights between them. Based on the weekly Chicago-based hit live show, The Blackout Diaries features standup comedians and ‘regular’ people (cops, firefighters, teachers, etc) telling hilarious and often mortifying true stories about over-imbibing. It’s best described as an AA meeting in reverse.
The Blackout Diaries grew out of Sean’s one-man show Never Been to Paris, which detailed many of his own drinking tales and near-death experiences. When audience members began to repeatedly share their own incredible stories with him after the show, Sean realized that these stories deserved a show of their own, and The Blackout Diaries was born.
About Sean Bair-Flannery
The easiest way to describe Sean Flannery is: he’s attended the wrong wedding (twice). That mostly sums it up. Sean hosts and created The Blackout Diaries. He’s appeared on Comedy Central, NPR, Sirius Radio and his debut book, “Places I Can’t Return To” was just released.
Sean was also named Best Drunk by The Chicago Reader. He and his wife are having different reactions to that award.
