The Mic Drop Comedy Club: Mic Drop was established in 2022 by longtime friends Hillary Hutson and Casey Currier. Our goal is for our guests to come see their favorite comedians and return having found their favorite comedy club. We intend to provide an unforgettable experience through customer service, great comedy, and a fun ambiance!

The walls of Mic Drop hold a special place within the history of comedy. In 1989 a Greek restaurant was opened and operated by the Salek family. In 1995 Salim Salek’s sons George & Tony developed the Greek restaurant into the Comedy Palace where it remained a well-respected comedy club until a global pandemic shut down the world in 2020. It was at that point that Mic Drop was asked to step in to help preserve the arts in San Diego. If you look closely throughout our venue, you will notice many tributes that pay homage to the Comedy Palace and the laughter provided in this space for the past 25 years.

We have gone out of our way to source as many local materials, vendors, products, and artists as possible. We will continue to immerse ourselves into the city of San Diego and the comedy community within it. When looking at our calendar you will notice some of your favorite household names along with many comedians whose names aren’t as recognizable. The shows highlighted in purple are produced in our Main Showroom while the shows highlighted in gold are produced in our more intimate Gold Room. Our promise to you is that the integrity of each show is our main priority, and we guarantee that any show on our stage is worth seeing.
