Considered by many as one of the most recognizable comedians in today’s era, Rodriguez discusses various topics including the two comedians that she has drawn the most inspiration from, being teased over her name and embracing it after learning it’s history, her Fighting Words special held at the food stamp building in the Bronx, what’s next, and much more.
Rodriguez moved to Los Angeles in the early 2000s with her two children after her divorce from Ellison. After a bout with anorexia and a divorce, she turned to comedy for healing. For a time, she and her children were homeless and lived out of a car. She is a five-time host of the Imagen Awards, which recognizes “the positive portrayal and creative excellence of Latinos and Latino cultures on screen”
She made her TV debut in NBC’s Last Comic Standing in 2014 where she departed among the top 10 finalists for Season 8.
Rodriguez was a featured comic in Netflix’s Tiffany Haddish Presents: They Ready—a comedy anthology series from longtime friend Haddish—HBO Max’s Entre Nos: Part 1, and Showtime’s Shaquille O’Neal Presents: All-Star Comedy Jam, among other specials.
On the feature side, she was handpicked to appear in the 2016 film The Comedy starring Robert DeNiro by director Taylor Hackford.
The Breakfast Club is an American syndicated radio show based in New York City hosted by DJ Envy, Angela Yee, and Charlamagne tha God that currently airs in over 90 radio markets around the United States. Common topics of discussion on the show are celebrity gossip (especially in the hip hop industry), progressive politics, and sexual and dating issues. In January 2020, The Breakfast Club was nominated for an NAACP Image Award in the category of Outstanding News/Information (Series or Special). In July 2020, The Breakfast Club was nominated for induction into the Radio Hall of Fame. Talk radio industry magazine Talkers included it in its 2020 “Heavy Hundred” list of top 100 influential talk radio shows, calling the show “appointment listening every day for people of color.” During the aftermath of the George Floyd protests, the Los Angeles Times called it “a radio forum for the nation’s racial reckoning.” As of July 2020 the show reach 8 million listeners a month according to Nielsen.
In November 2021 the show stopped its simulcast on Revolt.

Jasmin Leigh is an LA based Actress, Comedian and Producer who is currently taking the comedy scene by storm! Reared in Roosevelt, NY and Tallahassee, FL, she is gifted with both southern charm, and a take-charge personality. Acting on a dare, Jasmin Leigh’s comedy career began on an open mic, but immediately became something Jasmin craved. Because life is truly funnier than fiction, Jasmin Leigh currently stars in a web based talk show, aptly entitled Jasmin’s World. Conceived as her brain child when she was a child, Jasmin’s World invites viewers into Jasmin Leigh’s creative mind through, interviews, skits, and all types of “life funny fiction.” She also hones her comedic chops as a regular at The World Famous Comedy Store’s “Belly Room,” The Jay Spot and Ha Ha Comedy Club. She has had recurring roles on Laff Mobb’s Laff Tracks and appeared on Comedy Central in “Jeff Ross presents Roast Battle II,” and “Not Safe with Nikki Glaser.” When she’s not on stage doing her own set, Jasmin produces comedy shows across the country. As an actress, Jasmin Leigh has starred in a number of Independent films such as, “A Hot Night in the Valley” and” She Wins” with appearances in “Straight Outta Compton,” “Grownish,” and “Station 19.” A creative entrepreneur, she recently started her own production company, Jasmin Leigh Productions and collaborates with others as a writer. An overall creative light, Jasmin holds a culinary degree, and often utilizes her skills as a personal chef and caterer. Whether it’s writing, dancing, cooking, acting or comedy, Jasmin lives by the motto, “Live Life as if no one is watching!”
