You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take, but you also don’t laugh at 100% of the jokes you don’t hear her say.

Shooters Gotta Shoot is a weekly podcast hosted by comedian Erica Spera as she brings on comedic guest to talk about dating and relationships.

In 2019, Erica publicly came out about having herpes, and how that has affected her dating life. Since then, no topic is off limits. She takes a sports mentality when it comes to dating, and instead of throwing in the towel she breaks down different relationship books, research, tricks and tips with her guests to see what is real and what is B.S.

Titled Religious Moves, Comedian and former Preacher Justin Smith joins Erica Spera to talk about his journey from being married, pursuing ministry, dating as a preacher, getting divorced, and then pivoting to pursuing standup comedy. At the end, they debate some TikTok dating advice.

Erica Spera: Erica Spera is the girl next door who’s tall, dark, and one of the guys. Originally from Binghamton NY, Spera is the producer of 607 Comedy, where she hosts shows throughout the Upstate New York area.

When she isn’t having dinner with her ridiculously large family, you can find Erica performing nightly all over the big apple; doing stand up comedy clubs such as Gotham, The Stand, New York Comedy Club, and Caroline’s. She has recently opened for Patton Oswalt, Judah Friedlander and Tim Meadows. Spera was recently named a 2017 TBS Comics to Watch as part of the NY Comedy Festival. You may have seen her on TLC’s Cake Boss, or Gotham Comedy Live! on AXSTV.

Every Friday at 8:30pm, she co-hosts Bitches Brew, at Halyard’s Bar in Brooklyn, which has been named one of TimeOut NY’s “Best Comedy Shows”. You should come see a show and meet Erica’s parents.

This Week’s Special Guest:
Justin Smith: Justin Smith is an NYC based comedian from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. On paper, he is the definition of an Oklahoma stereotype. He was raised in a religious household, went to a conservative Christian college, worked in the oilfield, loves BBQ and the phrase “fixen to”. But it doesn’t take long after meeting Justin to realize that he is the farthest thing from a stereotype. He is quick-witted, brutally honest, and incredibly engaging, which is the main reason his resume is so diverse. Ranging from making fun of high school proms on MTV to talking about the intricate details of comedy on PBS, to performing at the world-famous Apollo Theater in Harlem.
