In 2007, Kanye West developed an HBO comedy similar to Curb Your Enthusiasm.

It never saw the light of day, but now, fans can check out the unaired pilot. The series — entitled A Little Inappropriate — never made it to air to HBO.

However, the unaired pilot recently found its way online thanks to Larry Charles — a comedian and screenwriter responsible for Seinfeld and Curb — who uploaded the pilot to Vimeo.

The pilot is in an unfinished state, but does contain 28 minutes of footage. It revolves around Kanye visiting a fan for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, only to find out the child isn’t ill. Alongside West, the pilot also features a litany of guest appearances, including artists GLC and Don C, as well as actors Jeff Garlin, JB Smoove, Wyatt Cenac, and Kym Whitley.

The series was reportedly pitched to HBO in 2007. In an interview with Vulture about the series in 2013, comedian Wyatt Cenac noted Kanye knew he wasn’t a great improviser, but wanted to cast the show with better talent to help.

“Kanye knew he wasn’t a good improviser,” said Cenac. “He’d read something that Seinfeld said about surrounding himself with better talent and that he would rise to the occasion. And so that was his hope.”

However, HBO didn’t like the lack of Kanye in the series, according to Cenac.

“HBO was like, ‘We didn’t pay for a show with these no-name ****. Find a way to put some Kanye in this,” the comedian continued, eventually noting that HBO would pull out of the project. In a 2019 profile for The Daily Beast, he hypothesized that “there would be no Kardashians” if the show aired “because they would have been characters on the Kanye show rather than him being a supporting character on the Kardashians.”

Given that Ye has been less online these days due to several controversies that got him temporarily banned from Twitter, his fans may now have a longer window to check out his fizzled HBO dreams.
