Fresh from his debut sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe and hit UK tour, multi-award-winning comedian and junior doctor Michael Akadiri has recorded his NextUp Biggest Award in Comedy nominated show as a debut stand-up special titled No Scrubs.
This “consistently funny, routinely dark show” (Scotsman) sees the “supremely talented and likeable” (Metro) Michael traverse the challenges of life inside and out of the NHS, as he ponders if he’s a scrub, when he’s wearing no scrubs.
Michael can be seen on the latest series of The Stand Up Sketch Show (ITV2). His radio credits include the breakfast show panel on Times Radio, hosting on BBC Radio Kent, and stand-up on BBC Radio 4’s Fred at the Stand . Michael has also written and performed sketch collaborations with LadBible UK.
Michael performs at the top comedy clubs in the country including the Comedy Store, Glee Club and Up The Creek. He has also already performed at high profile events for Apple UK and Newton Europe.
As well as performing comedy, Michael works as a junior doctor in the NHS, he’s just completed his early surgical training in London. He has returned from a sold out debut run at the Edinburgh festival.
