It seems that one of stand-up comedy’s biggest feuds in recent years has come to an end in Sin City.
Over the weekend at the Skankfest Comedy Festival in Las Vegas, NV, Annie Lederman posted a photo on her social media page that shocked many fans as she was joined by fellow comedian Brendan Schaub and announced that their comedy beef had officially ended.
Lederman wrote on her Instagram:
“Squashfest 2023, baby. #skankfestvegas ruled.”
Many of stand-up comedy’s notable personalities would comment on Annie’s photo, rejoicing that the two comedians found a resolution to their issues with one another.
“Comedy bringing the world together.”– Erik Griffin
“I witnessed history.” – Jamie Kennedy
The controversial feud would begin in early 2022 with Lederman sharing a story on her popular Trash Tuesday podcast with Esther Povitsky and Khalyla Kuhn about an encounter after one of her comedy sets inside The Comedy Store in Los Angeles, CA, an unnamed comedian with the initials B.S. asked her to walk with him to his truck with the assumption of her performing sexual favors on him once inside.
Lederman stated that she immediately turned down the offer, leading her fellow co-host Kuhn to share a similar story regarding that same comedian taking place New Years Eve three years prior. It wasn’t long until it was revealed that “B.S.” was indeed Brendan Schaub. This revelation would send social media into a frenzy as Schuab is considered by many comedy fans as the most infamous figure in the entire genre. Fans would link his name to a new trendy hashtag entitled #truggwalk and the subject of numerous YouTube content.
A married man with two children, Schaub would respond on numerous podcasts and interviews claiming that Lederman and Kuhn stories were completely false and even threaten Kuhn and comedian Bobby Lee with a lawsuit.
The issue simmered down in early 2023, with all parties basically moving on from the situation but not forgetting what was said.
In April 2023, it would be announced that Schaub and Lederman would featured as official performers as part of the Skankfest Comedy Festival.
After returning from the festival, Schaub would discuss Skankfest on The Fighter & The Kid podcast, explaining how he and Annie would privately hash out their differences and apologize to one another prior to the event leading up to the photo.
