Stand-up comedian Taylor Tomlinson dropped by the STYLECASTER studio to give us her best hot takes on everything from Beyoncé, her favorite Taylor, best and worst snacks, heels, belfies, and nude selfies.

She even gave some good tips on how to take the best belfie.

In her cover story with StyleCaster, Tomlinson spoke candidly about her bipolar diagnosis and why she’s chosen to talk about it in her act. “I was really nervous to put it out there and never be able to un-say it,” she explains. “But if you can’t share things about yourself because you’re scared people are gonna use it against you… Like, that’s the whole point of [why there’s] stigma, right?” Her confidence to reveal so much of herself on stage is a thing her industry contemporaries respect. “Taylor’s secret weapons are her authenticity and her bravery,” talk-show icon Conan O’Brien told us.

“She’s not afraid to share things openly from her childhood or her adult life. She walks up to that third rail and then masterfully veers into the absurd. The point is made and the comedy is not only intact, but it shines all the brighter.”

Taylor Tomlinson knows the comedy scene super well.

Too well, if you ask her, she’s been through every single level of the comedy scene you can think of. Taylor’s hometown and Southern California roots definitely contributed to her rise to fame and performing across the nation.

In prep for her tour Have It All, she tells StyleCaster, “I was sort of pretending that I liked being on my own. And now I actually mean it, which makes it better. I also think it’s honest and vulnerable about the fact that, like, you do want both sides of life, you do want to be fulfilled in your career, and you do want to be fulfilled in love and relationships.”
Taylor Tomlinson: Taylor Tomlinson began performing comedy when she was 16, after her father signed her up for a stand-up class. She became a top 10 finalist on the 9th season of NBC’s Last Comic Standing in 2015 and was named one of the top 10 comics to watch by Variety at the 2019 Just For Laughs festival. Her first Netflix standup special, Quarter-Life Crisis, premiered in March, 2020.

In 2021, she started her own podcast called Sad in the City and in the same year she was placed on the Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list.

Now her second standup special, Look at You, is now streaming on Netflix.
