Entertainer and Entrepreneur Nick Cannon sat down for Forbes Senior Writer Jabari Young to talk about Cannon’s growing list of shows, Hip-Hop’s 50th Anniversary and bringing together Black entrepreneurs at the ForbesBLK Summit in Atlanta.
He has hosted America’s Got Talent, The Masked Singer and his now-defunct daytime talk show Nick Cannon. Cannon made his big-screen debut in Drumline (2002) and starred in Love Don’t Cost a Thing (2003), Shall We Dance (2004), Roll Bounce (2005), Bobby (2006) and Chi-Raq (2015). In 2007, he earned a Screen Actors Guild nomination for outstanding performance by a cast for Bobby. He also became the first African-American awarded breakthrough actor of the year at the Cannes Film Festival.
In December 2015, Cannon was named “Chief Creative Officer” of RadioShack in hopes of catering to a younger crowd. According to the company this role involved “creating RadioShack-exclusive products and curating the in-store experience.” They launched the NCredible line of consumer audio electronics the following February, starting with the Ncredible1 Wireless Headphones.
