Filmed regularly inside All Things Comedy studios in Los Angeles, California, Steph Infection is a weekly podcast hosted by comedian Steph Tolev as she is joined various actors, comedians , professional athletes, and social media figures to discuss all things relating to the human body, from horror stories, to freak accidents and anything in between.
This week, Steph sits with hilarious comedian Ali Kolbert and talks about her literal gut-wrenching experience having Crohn’s Disease, the vast multiverse inside the female form and her keen sense of smell. Steph Infection Host: Steph Tolev: Steph Tolev is a stand up and sketch comedian from Toronto, Canada currently living in Los Angeles. Her unique brand of absurd and personal comedy has made her an audience favorite across North America both on stage and on television. As a stand up, Steph has done the prestigious Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal four times, three of which were taped for TV and air on the Comedy Network. Steph made her American TV debut on on Comedy Central part of Bill Burr’s new show “The Ringers”. She was recently named one of Vultures “Comics You Should and Will Know” and one of Comedy Central’s “Up Next” comics to watch. She also co-wrote and co-stars in the Comedy Central web series ” Steph & Deb” with comedian Deb Digiovanni. Steph can also be seen in the Amazon show “Please Understand Me” produced by Sarah Silverman and was featured in season two of “Corporate” on Comedy Central. Steph has won the Canadian Comedy Award for Best Female Stand up and was a finalist in Sirius XM’s next top comic. She was well-received at the acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe Fest, Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Clusterfest, Laughing Skull Festival, San Fran Sketch Fest, High Plaines, Big Sky Festival, Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver Sketch Fest’s, NXNE, and JFL42. Steph has released four albums, “So Many Wolves” in 2014 with her sketch duo Ladystache and most recently “Older & Wider”. On her own she has ” Hot N’ Hungry” from 2016 and just recently “I’m Not Well” that was nominated for a Juno Award for Best Comedy Album. This Week’s Special Guest: Ali Kolbert: After graduating NYU Tisch, Ali Kolbert landed a job as an NBC Page at 30 Rock–where she worked on shows such as Saturday Night Live , The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, and Late Night with Seth Meyers. In 2017, Ali went on to make her television debut in that very building, on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. Since then, Ali has worked as a writer at The Onion and has performed her clever and provocative stand-up at The Laughing Skull Comedy Festival in Atlanta, as well as The Big Sky Comedy Festival in Montana, appearing on The Today Show with Kathie Lee and Hoda, and countless episodes of Tru TV’s Comedy Knockout. In 2019, Ali participated in NBC’s comedy show, Bring The Funny, and then made her sophomore stand-up performance on A Little Late with Lily Singh. All the while, Ali was a host on BUILD Brunch, where she brought humor to a pop culture panel, airing on Yahoo and Huffpost Entertainment to their shared fan base of over 20 million. Ali was recently included in Variety Magazine’s July comedy issue, profiled in Forbes Under 30, and named one of New York’s Funniest in 2019. Now in 2021, Ali is a lead on Tru TV’s new half-hour comedy, Top Secret Videos, alongside Ron Funches and Brian Posehn. She has appeared in many viral videos for BETCHES, which has contributed to her combined social media following of over 150k and has recently launched her podcast, The Ali Kolbert Show .
