Prime Video has dropped the trailer for its star-studded animated comedy, The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy. Slated to premiere on February 23, the series will be led by Stephanie Hsu and Keke Palmer as two “delusional narcissist” alien doctors on a quest to cure anxiety.
The trailer previews the chaos that is about to happen in a bizarre intergalactic hospital. The animated series will center on two alien best friends, Dr. Sleech (Hsu) and Dr. Klak (Palmer), who are presented with a unique case that may or may not change their dull career situation forever. The renowned alien surgeons will also tackle “anxiety-eating parasites, illegal time loops, and deep-space STIs.”
According to the synopsis, the first season will see the two doctors “take on a highly dangerous and potentially groundbreaking case and, in doing so, put existence itself in jeopardy. Although considering their dismal personal lives, oblivion might be an improvement.”
The upcoming series also stars Kieran Culkin, Sam Smith, Maya Rudolph, and Natasha Lyonne.
Apart from dropping the trailer, Prime Video has also revealed the guest stars joining Hsu and Palmer in the first season of the adult animated sci-fi comedy. This includes Tracee Ellis Ross, Bowen Yang, Abbi Jacobson, Jay Ellis, Andrew Dismukes, Lennon Parham, Gary Anthony Williams, and John Waters.
Cirocco Dunlap serves as a showrunner and writer. Dunlap also executive produced the show, alongside Rudolph, Lyonne, Danielle Renfrew Behrens, Shauna McGarry, Shannon Prynoski, Chris Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio, and Ben Kalina. The show’s production designer, Robin Eisenberg, will also co-produce.
The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy arrives on Prime Video on February 23.
