Sony Pictures Entertainment and Apple TV took advantage of yesterday’s solar eclipse by dropping the first trailer for their upcoming film Fly Me To The Moon.
Starring Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum, Fly Me To The Moon lands in the middle of NASA’s historic Apollo 11 moon landing, where the savvy marketing maven Kelly Jones – brought in to fix NASA’s public image – wreaks havoc on launch director Cole Davis’s already difficult task.
When the White House deems the mission too important to fail, Jones is directed to stage a fake moon landing as backup.
Johansson and Tatum are not the sole star power behind Fly Me To The Moon.
They are joined by Nick Dillenburg, Anna Garcia, Jim Rash, Noah Robbins, Colin Woodell, Christian Zuber, Donald Elise Watkins, Ray Romano and Woody Harrelson in this sharp, stylish comedy-drama.
The first trailer gives a taste of that stylish edge. Each frame feels dipped in the stunning Flordian warmth, only made more vibrant by the patter between Johansson and Tatum.
Fly Me To The Moon is directed by two-time Emmy-nominee Greg Berlanti, whose previous credits include Life as We Know It and Love, Simon.
Scarlett Johansson serves as producer alongside Jonathan Lia, Keenan Flynn and Sarah Schechter, with Robert J. Dohrmann executive producing.
Fly Me To The Moon is coming exclusively to movie theaters on July 12.
