Netflix has set the premiere for the upcoming comedy special Keith Robinson: Different Strokes for Tuesday, June 11.
In the one-hour special, Robinson will share raw personal stories from the aftermath of two life-altering strokes (one in 2016, and one in 2020) as well as insight into his recovery and the challenges he’s faced while navigating his new disabilities.
The comedian, who has kept people laughing for the last four decades, will continue to use his signature personal and brutally honest approach to this story.
“Coming up with the title Different Strokes was a ‘Stroke of Genius.’ Stupidity, mixed with Perseverance! I loved making this special and thanks to all who helped make this happen,” Robinson shared in a statement to Deadline.
Wanda Sykes—who Robinson worked with on The Wanda Sykes Show— and Amy Schumer—his Trainwreck co-star and former podcast co-host— were part of Robinson’s audience when Different Strokes was shot at New York’s Sony Hall last year. Marcus Russell Price (producer of Max’s Expecting Amy) directed the special. Executive producers include Robinson, Schumer, through her So Easy Productions banner, and Daniel Powell and Alex Bach, both of Irony Point.
This is the South Philly native’s second comedy special for the streamer following his 2014 Netflix debut in Kevin Hart Presents: Keith Robinson – Back Of The Bus Funny. His acting credits include: Trainwreck, The King of Staten Island, and most recently, he was featured in the 2024 Kennedy Center Mark Twain Awards ceremony honoring Kevin Hart.
