Micky Overman is staring in the face of that decision: does she want to become a parent? If no, great. If yes, how could anyone justify that desire when the world is currently terrible, has always been terrible and will continue to be terrible?

Micky takes you through all of this, and more, in her hilarious new comedy special, The Precipice.

In this critically acclaimed hour of comedy, Micky contemplates love, changes, robots and the possibility of motherhood. She talks about her feelings around marriage, how she doesn’t believe in the concept of respect and how diagnosing a parent is the best feeling in the world.

Shot in the beautiful Pleasance Theatre in Islington, London, Micky delivers an hour of pin-sharp observations and carefully crafted gags that will speak to anyone who’s ever worried about the future or felt paralyzed when staring in the face of a life-altering decision.

Micky Overman: Micky Overman is a comedian and writer living and working in the UK. She’s originally from the Netherlands, giving her a unique and fresh perspective on all things British, comedy and life. She previously lived in Vancouver, Canada, where she studied acting and improv, adding to her skill set and forever sticking her with a slightly American accent.

She moved to London to start stand-up in 2015, quickly rising through the ranks (she was a finalist in Funny Women and Leicester Square New Comedian in 2016). In 2018 she was a Chortle Best Newcomer Nominee, and wrote and performed her first solo show ‘Role Model’ at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

This year, she returns to the Festival, bringing her sophomore show ‘Micky Overman Presents: Presenting Miss Micky Overman’ to the Pleasance.

She’s always loved comedy with a passion, and her belief that jokes are the best way to express feelings and emotions started young.
