Comedy Dynamics will release It Could Have Been Better, a new comedy special from Raanan Hershberg, on platforms worldwide on July 2nd.

Set for release in album form on July 5, It Could Have Been Better marks Hershberg’s fourth special overall, and his second released in the span of two months. On June 20, the comic took to YouTube to debut his third hour Brave, taped at the Comedy Cellar in New York City.

While no logline for It Could Have Been Better was provided, Hershberg stated that he decided on this title “because that’s the thought I have after every single life experience. And it’s this dissatisfied neuroticism that’s at the core of my comedy.”

Continued Hershberg, “It was a real thrill this year to focus on both a self-financed, “believe in yourself” special for my YouTube Channel and to have the good fortune to have an additional special for Comedy Dynamics. The new hour I’m touring with is an exciting next phase and I’m thrilled to be in pre-production for a movie I wrote and will be co-directing. The key to being prolific is just assuming you’re going to die at any time.”

Stated Comedy Dynamics’ Founder and CEO, Brian Volk-Weiss, “Raanan’s new special is one of those sets that keeps you laughing long after you’ve finished watching the special. I think fans of Raanan and comedy fans in general will keep this one on repeat.”

It Could Have Been Better was produced by Liner Notes Productions, with David Thies directing. Exec producers on the special include Thomas V. Walker, Rob McNeely, Lee Frankel, Michael A. Jackman, Thies, Royce Richmond, Eddie Brill, and Naoto Hall.

One of the sharpest up-and-coming comics on the New York scene, Hershberg’s Brave satirizes the political divide in America while also exploring recent developments in his own chaotic personal life. No topic is off limits, including his girlfriend getting open heart surgery three months into their relationship, his overbearing Jewish mother, and his conflation of being loved with being trapped. His comedy, as always, is energetic, loud, silly, dark, thoughtful, absurd, painfully honest and vulnerable, while being packed to the brim with jokes.

Hershberg released his first pair of specials, Downhill Ever Since and Jokes from the Underground, on YouTube in 2022, with the latter being singled out as part of the New York Times’ ‘Best Comedy of 2022.’ A regular at the Comedy Central who performs all over the world, he’s been seen working his act on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy FallonThe Late, Late Show with James Corden, and Comedy Central.
