Comedian and podcaster Chad Daniels announced on Tuesday morning that his latest stand-up comedy special, Empty Nester, is set to premiere on Netflix on July 16th.
In his tenth comedy special, Daniels explains that he’s an empty nester, as his kids are now 20 and 24. His new hour sees him head to St. Paul, the capital of his home state, to get brutally honest about what it’s like being an empty nester, throwing another hat in the dating ring, and standing firmly in the middle of whatever road he stands in.
Eric Abrams directed Empty Nester, with Matt Schuler and Jesse Chieffo producing. Daniels and Alex Goodman served as executive producers.
With 22+ tracks that have reached over a million listens on Pandora, and over a billion total streams of his albums to date, Daniels is one of the most listened-to comedians of all time. One of only 13 comics to be featured on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, he’s lived in Minnesota his whole life while also touring the country for over 20 years. Most recently, he unveiled the YouTube special Mixed Reviews in November 2023, prior to that debuting Twelfth Night via 800 Pound Gorilla in 2021.
Daniels co-hosts the podcast Middle of Somewhere with friend Cy Amundson and recently launched his second podcast, Pretend Problems, alongside his girlfriend, comedian Kelsey Cook, as they open up about arguments they’ve overcome, communication strategies, navigating being apart on tour and more.
