A Portland comedian, Shain Brenden, has released his first comedy album, “Either Way, Pretty Funny” via streaming on the Blonde Medicine record label.
On his debut album, Brenden paints a picture of a guy trying his best with what he’s got: being outnumbered and bullied by the women in his family, getting kicked out of an ultrasound appointment, and defending his completely appropriate and not weird at all love of NBA rookies. He closes it all out with an original slam poem with a topic untouched by poets at large: working the drive-thru at McDonald’s.
When a sandstorm left his unit stranded in Afghanistan on Christmas Day, Portland-favorite and military veteran Shain Brenden did his first set during an impromptu talent show. He’s since traded in his uniform for a microphone and for over a decade has been featured on Don’t Tell Comedy, on SiriusXM Radio, and at various comedy clubs and festivals around the country.
Now, the Black & Filipino-American comedian, writer, and actor proudly becomes the second most famous person from Millington, Tennessee (after Justin Timberlake).
Shain Brenden: Shain Brenden is a comedian, writer and actor. His album “Either Way, Pretty Funny” debuts September 27th on iTunes and Bandcamp with Blonde Medicine Records.
He has a featured set on the wildly popular Don’t Tell Comedy stand-up series and can be heard regularly on Netflix is a Joke radio on Sirius XM. While making the rounds in comedy festivals like High Plains, 10,000 Laughs, Laughing Skull, San Francisco Sketchfest and Limestone Comedy Fest, Shain was also crowned Portland’s Funniest Person in 2022 at Helium Comedy Club in Portland, Oregon.
You’ve probably seen him in commercials for NBA 2K, Nike, Google, and Navy Federal Credit Union, if not, he still got paid pretty well for all of them. He was also a long time co-host of NBA pre/post game shows for the Portland Trail Blazers on NBC Sports, and currently is trying to break 80 on the golf course.
Shain can be seen performing at comedy clubs and venues around the country and one time in college he threw a half-eaten corn dog that got stuck in Eli Mannings helmet and that’s…that’s just cool
