Keith Pedro has made appearances on Russell Peters’ Roast Battle Canada and Kevin Hart’s Laughing Out Loud network.
In his 17-year career, this is his third comedy album, where he demonstrates his multifacetedness.
He’s able to connect with Filipinos in North America by sharing his experience growing up in a Filipino family. Though these jokes don’t necessarily work in Canada, Pedro is able to still be funny without an ethnic voice as growing up and working in Canada taught him how to mold universal jokes. If you haven’t had the opportunity to catch Keith Pedro on tour, you can listen to this album.
It’s a compilation of content that he recorded from his last tour in two cities – San Diego and of course, his hometown of Toronto! In Pedro’s words, “the album is a flex to show how much material I have and how universal and yet honest I can be.” We find this to be absolutely spot on! You get a taste of his raw humor, and you get to listen to snippets of his life experiences packed into 16 tracks.
Pedro is the father of two teenagers and two “miracle babies” who were born in 2019. The album cover of Manny Stacquiao features his twin boys sitting on clothes, which is illustrative of how comfortable his kids are sitting on their dad’s material. In Pedro’s words, “Essentially, my material got them living nice!” Maybe now, the Pedro family won’t all have to share clothes! You’ll have to listen to the album to understand the inside jokes referenced here. The album is ultra entertaining. Time goes by so quickly and you’ll be wanting more. Hopefully, this is just one of many! So, go show some love and support by streaming Manny Stacquiao.
