Comedians performing their new hours off-broadway is more common than you’d think.

Among the most recent ones include Rachel Bloom taking her off-broadway show Death, Let Me Do My Show to Netflix as a comedy special this past October.

Another one includes Jacqueline Novak’s off-broadway show Get On Your Knees, which also premiered as a Netflix comedy special at the top of this year.

And now, the latest to add to this list is Gary Gulman, who’s headed off-broadway in early 2025 to debut his new solo-stage show titled Grandiloquent.

The Born on 3rd Base comedian is teaming with Tony Award nominee Moritz von Stuelpnagel to direct the new show at the Lucile Lortel Theatre in New York, where it’ll run beginning Tuesday, January 7, 2025 for a limited engagement through Saturday, February 8, 2025. Stuelpnagel is best known for his work directing the hit broadway show Hand To God.

Per the description: Grandiloquent is Gary Gulman’s hilarious new show about insecurity, empathy, self-acceptance and how a thoughtful boy learned to use humor, reading and writing to cope with the consequences of his parents’ blunders. Learn why a seemingly confident middle-aged man feels most comfortable in a large room where a thousand strangers are laughing at him.

“Grandiloquent is the show I got into comedy to do,” says Gulman about the new show. “It’s the culmination of 48 years of my reading and writing and performing. I am so grateful to be able to bring it to the venerable Lucille Lortel Theatre, where I’ve seen so much extraordinary work.”

Additionally, the production will feature scenic design by Tony Award winner Beowulf Boritt, lighting design by Adam Honoré, and sound design by UptownWorks.

Grandiloquent is produced by Mike and Carlee Productions, AGI Entertainment’s Brian Stern, and Michael Bonfiglio and co-produced by Nelson & Tao, Nathan Mardis, and the Lucille Lortel Theatre.
