As every comedian – and even comedy fan – knows, the road can bring endless possibilities as far as shows go. As a touring stand-up comic, you can either have the best gig of your life or a nightmare gig. Mary Lynn Rajskub has decided to embrace that energy for her latest special.
In her new comedy special Road Gig – which premieres tonight on our 800 Pound Gorilla YouTube channel -, she covers it all. She talks about crowd work, dating, being a mom, and shares insight into some of her most prominent acting gigs.
As an actress, you’ve probably seen Rajskub’s work on shows like 24, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Larry Sanders Show, Mr. Show with Bob and David, Arrested Development, Two Broke Girls, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and countless others. She’s also been in films such as Road Trip, Dude, Where’s My Car?, Punch Drunk Love, and Legally Blonde 2: Red, White, and Blonde.
As far as stand-up goes, she has a career that spans decades, generating a solid reputation for herself over the years. In 2021, she released a stand-up special, Live From the Pandemic. This saw her performing her act entirely in her home and was well received by critics and audiences alike.
