You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take, but you also don’t laugh at 100% of the jokes you don’t hear them say.
Two Stand-Up Gals is a weekly podcast hosted by comedians Erica Spera and Teresa DeGaetano as they bring on comedic guest to talk about comedy, dating, and relationships.
In 2019, Erica publicly came out about having herpes, and how that has affected her dating life. Since then, no topic is off limits. She takes a sports mentality when it comes to dating, and instead of throwing in the towel she breaks down different relationship books, research, tricks and tips with her guests to see what is real and what is B.S.
Erica Spera: Erica Spera is the girl next door who’s tall, dark, and one of the guys. Originally from Binghamton NY, Spera is the producer of 607 Comedy, where she hosts shows throughout the Upstate New York area.
When she isn’t having dinner with her ridiculously large family, you can find Erica performing nightly all over the big apple; doing stand up comedy clubs such as Gotham, The Stand, New York Comedy Club, and Caroline’s. She has recently opened for Patton Oswalt, Judah Friedlander and Tim Meadows. Spera was recently named a 2017 TBS Comics to Watch as part of the NY Comedy Festival. You may have seen her on TLC’s Cake Boss, or Gotham Comedy Live! on AXSTV.
Every Friday at 8:30pm, she co-hosts Bitches Brew, at Halyard’s Bar in Brooklyn, which has been named one of TimeOut NY’s “Best Comedy Shows”. You should come see a show and meet Erica’s parents.
Teresa DeGaetano: Teresa DeGaetano has been seen on Impractical Jokers, The Wendy Williams Show, Good Morning America and Dr. Oz. Teresa also worked as an entertainment writer for A-List Comedy. Her jokes were heard around the country on morning radio stations. Teresa has been a stand-up comic for the last ten years in New York City. Originally from rural Pennsylvania, Teresa’s friendly, easy going, girl next door quality has made her a very popular emcee and host throughout comedy clubs all over New York City.
On this week’s episode, Erica and Teresa talk about Tipping Culture, and when people can’t read the room on letting a topic go, and how people always ask about your relationship. The gals discuss how sometimes you need a good cry to stress release, and communication frustrations. “Just a Little Bit” they follow up on their therapy bits.
