Max has officially announced the cancellation of its hit coming-of-age comedy The Sex Lives of College Girls after three seasons.

This comes after nearly two months since the latest installment had wrapped up its ten-episode run. Unlike the first two seasons, the third season failed to receive a Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with only a Tomatometer score of 29%.

“It followed four college roommates at New England’s prestigious Essex College. A bundle of contradictions and hormones, these girls are equal parts lovable and infuriating as they live out their new, free lives on campus,” reads the show’s official logline.

According to Deadline, Warner Bros. Television is currently looking for other options for The Sex Lives of College Girls Season 4. Due to series creator Mindy Kaling’s long-time partnership with Netflix, the mega streamer is reportedly one of the potential new home prospects for the show. This comes after Kaling’s latest Netflix show Running Point was just granted a second season renewal.

The Sex Lives of College Girls was created by Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble, who is also serving as the showrunner. The series was led by Pauline Chalamet, Amrit Kaur, Alyah Chanelle Scott, Mekki Leeper, Christopher Meyer, Ilia Paulino, Lolo Spencer, Renika Williams, and Mitchell Slaggert, with Mean Girls star Reneé Rapp, who left the show during the latest season.

Season 3 also featured Rebecca Wisocky, Nabeel Muscatwalla, Michael Hsu Rosen, Ruby Cruz, Devin Craig, Michael Provost, and Roby Attal. It was executive produced by Howard Klein. It was a production by Kaling International in association with Warner Bros. Television.
