Following the release of a new weekly podcast “Chris vs. The People,” online creator Chris Klemens has set an eight-city stand-up comedy tour across the U.S.
The “Chris Klemens Live” tour kicked off in Austin, TX on May 7 and will make stops in Atlanta, GA, Raleigh, NC, Seattle, WA, Portland OR, St. Louis, MO, and Indianapolis through June. Klemens will perform at New York’s famed City Winery on June 13 before concluding his jaunt in St. Louis, MO on June 22. Tickets are currently available for his remaining tour dates here.
The stand-up shows are set to include stories from his “man on the street” interviews, dating disasters, and his own ancedotes and wild stories from his 10-plus year career on the internet. Klemens was recently nominated for a Webby award, which this year introduced a new suite of Creator categories.
The show follows the launch of his new “Chris vs. The People” podcast, which debuted on April 15 in partnership with Audioboom. Each week, the comedian takes calls from listeners to talk through his hottest takes candid opinions, and honest advice.
“After interviewing strangers on the street for over 10 years and working across multiple comedy podcasts, ‘Chris vs The People’ feels like the perfect culmination of my career thus far,” Klemens said of the new podcast in a statement. “While still a comedy podcast at its core, this show will also have depth with more serious, heartfelt moments from the audience call-ins and is rooted in meaningful human connection. Growing up, individuality felt so scary and isolating, but we as people are so much more similar than we give ourselves credit for. I want listeners to tune in to ‘Chris vs The People’ and either find comfort in the unanimous dysfunction, misfortune, and ups and downs of our lives, or find a humorous distraction from it all.”
