Hot off the success of his last comedy special, which racked up over 3 million views, Greg Warren returns to the mat with The Champ—a triumphant showcase of some of his sharpest material yet.
In this new hour, Warren goes on the offensive, taking down poison ivy, snakes, and pretty much the entire great outdoors. He also blows the whistle on the chaos of late-night customer service at his favorite retailers. With the veteran storytelling skills of a seasoned comic—and former collegiate wrestler—Greg revisits the coach who’s been living rent-free in his head for over 30 years.
Yes, high school fishing teams are real. So are their cheerleaders. And with a routine you won’t forget, The Champ sticks the landing and scores big laughs.
Filmed at The Funny Bone in Columbus, OH, the special was directed by Mike Lavin and exec produced by Bargatze and Adrian Kulp at Nateland Entertainment. The Champ marks the fourth stand-up special released this year by Nateland and the second Warren has done with Bargatze, following The Salesman, a critically acclaimed 2023 hour that has earned over three million views.
Co-produced by Bargatze and 800 Pound Gorilla Media, The Salesman tells the story of Greg’s post-college years selling Jif and Pringles for Procter & Gamble, a formative chapter that ultimately launched his career in stand-up. Other past credits for the comic include the Amazon special Where the Field Corn Grows and Fish Sandwich on Dry Bar Comedy, as well as appearances on Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Late Late Show, and Comedy Central Presents.
Warren is a favorite on the nationally syndicated Bob & Tom Radio Show, which led to touring theaters nationwide with The Bob & Tom All Stars Comedy Tour. A Missouri native, his comedy has been a daily staple on Sirius/XM’s Laugh USA and Jeff and Larry’s Comedy Roundup channels for a decade.
Warren also co-hosts the podcast The Consumers with Tim Convy and Sean O’Brien on the Nateland Podcast Network.
