Comedian Jade Catta-Preta (Hulu’s “Hotties”) is back with fellow comic and Sounds Like A Cult Podcast co-host, Isa Medina, for this week’s episode of the OMG Hi! Podcast. Jade and Isa sit down with George and Gil to discuss calling someone a “mid”, “cheugy” celebrities, being a people pleaser, the science of laughter, turning on pansexuals, Bad Bunny and more.

Jade Catta-Preta: Currently the host of Hulu’s hit reality dating show Hotties, Jade Catta-Preta performs all over the country both in English and Portuguese, and you can see her regularly at comedy clubs in LA and New York. She was a series regular on Manhattan Love Story (ABC) and has recurred on American Housewife (ABC), Future Man (Hulu), Those Who Can’t (TruTV), The Joey Mac Project (Pop TV), and Californication (Showtime). She has guest starred in numerous television shows, including Life in Pieces (CBS), Modern Family (ABC), and 2 Broke Girls (CBS). On the reality front, Jade was a series regular on Girl Code (MTV), Punk’d (MTV), LadyLike (MTV), Flashback Friday (VH1), Greatest Ever (TruTV), and competed on Comedy Knockout (TruTV), and @Midnight (Comedy Central) regularly. In addition, she can be seen as a guest judge on Cooking w/ Cannabis (Netflix).

Isa Medina: Isa Medina is a Colombian writer, comedian, and actor. She is the creator/host of Sounds Like A Cult podcast, which was voted Best Podcast of 2022 by Vulture, Esquire, Wired, and Time Magazine. Isa has opened for George Lopez and is a regular on the Laugh Factory showcase Brown-ish with Erik Rivera. In 2022, Isa Performed at Netflix Is A Joke Festival on their all latinx showcase, Spanglish. She also recorded an episode of her podcast Sounds Like A Cult, for Netflix Is A Joke Festival with comedian Mae Martin. She just wrapped up a month of stand-up comedy at Edinburgh Fringe Festival where she performed at the historic Gilded Balloon Teviot. In the Winter of 2023 you can catch her at SF Sketchfest performing in both the prestigious Studio Sets showcase and the all Latino “Donde Esta Mi Comedy?” showcase.

George Lopez’s multi-faceted career encompasses television, film, standup comedy, and late-night television. Lopez is currently on his stand-up comedy tour, The Wall World Tour, in arenas across the country. He recently completed his standup comedy tour, The Comedy Get Down, with Eddie Griffin, D.L. Hughley, and Cedric the Entertainer. The comedians also debuted their BET scripted comedy series based on their tour.

Lopez has been featured in four HBO specials, The Wall in August 2017, It’s Not Me, It’s You in 2012, GRAMMY-nominated Best Comedy Album Tall, Dark and Chicano in 2009, and America’s Mexican in 2007. Lopez also performed as part of HBO and TBS’s Comic Relief 2006. His acclaimed comedy concert, Why You Crying?, debuted on Showtime in 2004. He released his third standup CD, El Mas Chingon, in 2006, which also earned Lopez a GRAMMY nomination in the category of Best Comedy Album. In 2004, he was nominated for a GRAMMY in the same category for his CD Team Leader. 

In 2006, Lopez received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In addition, Time named him one of the 25 Most Influential Hispanics in America, and the Harris Poll named him one of the Top Ten Favorite Television Personalities. He also starred in Lopez on TV Land.  Produced by Lopez, the series explored how he struggled between his two worlds and crises that are often of his own making. 

The half-hour single-camera serialized comedy aired for two seasons. Lopez Tonight, a late-night television talk show on TBS also ran for two seasons. It represented Lopez’s return to series television after co-creating, writing, producing, and starring in Warner Bros. Television’s groundbreaking hit sitcom George Lopez, which ran for six seasons on ABC.

George Lopez remains a hit with viewers in syndication on both broadcast stations and cable’s Nick at Nite, ranking as one of the top-rated shows on the network and among the top five comedies and top 20 weekly programs in syndication.
