Lizz Winstead, co-creator and former head writer of The Daily Show, returns as a guest for the first time in over 20 years on Monday, February 13th. Winstead joins guest host Sarah Silverman to talk about those early days, and how she has repurposed her amazing political satire skills to advocate for abortion rights with her nonprofit Abortion Access Front (AAF). Winstead was not only the co-creator and former head writer of TDS, she was also an original correspondent, and helped launch the careers of Stephen Colbert, Lewis Black and Brian Unger.
This will be an incredible interview, with never-before-told stories about the creation of “The Daily Show” from one of the few people who were actually “in the room where it happened.” Winstead’s current work in abortion activism is another groundbreaking example of how comedy can be used as a tool to raise awareness and effect change in this unprecedented time of erosion of our reproductive freedoms.
