Comedy’s moved back indoors.
The San Jose Improv will throw a Grand Reopening Party on Thursday, June 24, with comics Phil Griffiths, Sam Marcoux, Chai Sharma and Sammy Obeid, then present TV, talk show and standup star D.L. Hughley for five shows over three nights, Friday, June 25, through Sunday, June 27.
In the coming weeks at the South Second Street club, look for Gareth Reynolds, Preacher Lawson, Jon “Polar Bear” Gonzalez, Anjelah Johnson — plus Russell Peters for six shows.
In Pleasanton, Tommy T’s Comedy Club — which reopened with socially-distanced indoor shows several weeks ago — has scheduled social media hit Kerwin Claiborne (June 25-26), Tim Bae (June 27) and medium Cindy Kaza (June 27-28).
July’s lineup on Hopyard Road includes Kabir Singh, Mario Hodge, Jess Hilarious, Tony Rock and DC Curry. The first weekend in August will bring Cedric the Entertainer to the standup stage.
