“Every couple has their secrets,” but not everyone keeps them like Kaley Cuoco’s Emma in the action comedy Role Play opposite David Oyelowo.
Prime Video unveiled the trailer for the upcoming action comedy, highlighting Cuoco’s role as a suburban mom living a double life.
Set to hit the streamer on January 12, 2024, the trailer for the forthcoming film showcases Emma’s seemingly perfect and upbeat life with her husband David (Oyelowo) and their two children.
However, David soon realizes his wife is not what she appears to be.
After spending their anniversary trying to spice up their marriage with a little role-playing, David discovers Emma has been a deadly assassin the whole time they have been together.
The logline for Role Play reads as follows:
“Emma has a wonderful husband and two kids in the suburbs of New Jersey – she also has a secret life as an assassin for hire – a secret that her husband David discovers when the couple decides to spice up their marriage with a little role play.”
The upcoming film is directed by French filmmaker Thomas Vincent (Possessions) and written by Andrew Baldwin (The Outsider) and Seth Owen (All Nighter). The film’s producers are Cuoco, Alex Heineman, and Andrew Rona.
Besides Cuoco and Oyelowo, both established actors in their own rights, Role Play also boasts quite an impressive all-star cast, including Love Actually’s Bill Nighy and Gladiator’s Connie Nielsen. Cuoco has starred in a number of films and TV shows such as The Flight Attendant, Meet Cute, and The Big Bang Theory.
Meanwhile, Oyelowo has appeared in Silo, Interstellar, and Lawmen: Bass Reeves.
Can David save both their marriage and their lives? You can find that out when Role Play premieres on Prime Video on January 12.
