This Wednesday, the city of Los Angeles is declaring August 18th in the L.A./Valley area will forever be known as Brody Stevens Day.

As many comedy fans know, Brody Stevens – a quintessential and beloved presence on the L.A. stand-up circuit – passed away from suicide in early 2019. And this particular date for a dedication makes perfect sense, as 818 – which is the area code for San Fernando Valley – was something very closely identified with Brody. Onstage, he would often repeat the phrase “818 til I die.”

The ceremony will be held on Wednesday at Reseda Park at 2 P.M. Friends and fans will meet up at Brody’s signature park bench there, between the duck pond and the baseball field. The event is being described as “a beautiful day to honor our friend who represented the Valley to the fullest & impacted so many with his comedy, personal journey, and sports!”
