As one of the featured performers at this year’s Laugh After Dark comedy festival, stand-up comedian Matthew Coe entertains the Las Vegas audience as he shares his story regarding being born with half of a heart. A jokester originally from the Bay Area, Matthew grew up with a congenital heart condition.

Matthew Coe: Matthew is a comedian and writer originally from the Bay Area. On stage, he likes to discuss his unique voice and growing up with a congenital heart condition. He studied neuroscience in college thinking he would be a doctor until he realized he had to look away during countless scenes of “Grey’s Anatomy.” He has trained and performed at Upright Citizens Brigade, done stand-up in the Oakland Comedy Festival, and was recently selected for the “Best of Fest” show at the Burbank Comedy Festival. He writes and performs sketches for Instagram and Tik-Tok with the group “Super Close Friend.” He also enjoys drumming, playing basketball, hiking, and trying (and failing) to grow a mustache.

Laugh After Dark: Laugh After Dark got its start in 2018 when the first 6-episode season of their original series trended organically on the Prime Video homepage. Since then, LAD has grown to become an internationally recognized comedy industry powerhouse with a commitment to excellence, a drive to discover and genuinely nurture talent, and a passion for fostering community and opportunities. Today, the brand is currently home to 3 award-winning seasons of stand-up TV show, a viral social media presence with almost 100 million views, standup specials, chart-topping comedy albums, a global podcast that charts in over 45 countries, and experience-driven live events, including the annual Laugh After Dark ComedyFest in Las Vegas.
