There’s nothing stronger in this world than a thoughtful woman who isn’t afraid to share her strengths and weaknesses in front of a live audience of her peers for humor.
Bron Lewis’ latest comedy special, Obviously, is about women’s mental health.
Through the lens of her own struggle with post-natal anxiety and depression, the show probes social complacency around women’s experience of declining mental health after having children.
But don’t get it twisted; this is still stand-up comedy, and it is obviously very funny, with Lewis inviting the audience to laugh with her.
Bron Lewis: Bron Lewis is one of Australia’s most promising new comedians. She was the co-winner of the National Raw Comedy competition in 2022, a four-time champion of the Moth storytelling competition, and both the best and the worst mum living at her house.
Bron is a writer at The Project and has a prominent presence on stages all around the country. Bron’s critically acclaimed show ‘Probably’ sold out in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane, and it scored her a nomination for Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s ‘Best Newcomer’ for 2023.
