LUSH, TROPICAL, and EXOTIC! The Epic Tiki is a weekly podcast hosted by comedian and filmmaker Luke Soin.
Join Luke as he hangs and chats with his friends and other comedians, filmmakers, and interesting peoples. Laid-back, conversational, humorous. The podcast mixes comedy, movie talk, personal stories, joke-writing, pop culture, etc. Topics vary. Could be comedy careers, personal stories, film & movies, sometimes deep dives into fandoms (e.g. Star Wars, Lord of the Rings), pop culture, life experiences.
Luke interjects with his comedic sensibilities; there’s often spontaneous or tangential humor, sharing of weird or funny anecdotes. It’s not super polished in a formal sense — more genuine and casual.
It tries to feel like you’re just hanging out with these people.
Luke Soin: Luke Soin is a stand-up comedian based in Sacramento, California. This week, Soin sits down for a fantastic chat with friend and stand-up comedian Brendon Walsh as they discuss a variety of topics including comedic journeys, pop culture favorites and current events.
Brendon has a wild amount of awesome credits including Just for Laughs, Comedy Central, Conan, Drunk History, WTF with Marc Maron, opening for Joe Rogan, and HBO, to name a few. Brendon hosts a weekly podcasts called The World Record Podcast.
Brendon’s prank-heavy comedy, what makes him enjoy doing this type of humor, and some of his favorite examples of his work.
They also talk about the Alien franchise and how the cast of Alien Romulus is not as good as in the original Alien.
Luke also thanked Brendon for reading my script and giving some good notes on it. And we talk about one of Brendon’s shows he did while visiting our fair city of Sacramento, as well as a bunch of other stuff.
This one goes up and down and all over the place so buckle up!
