Comedian Nate Jackson (The Paper) has been tapped for a recurring role in the second season of Apple TV‘s comedy Bad Monkey, exec produced by and starring Vince Vaughn.
Character details are under wraps. Other previously announced additions in Season 2 include John Malkovich, Yvonne Strahovski, Zavior Phillips, and John Ortiz, who has been upped to a series regular role.
Based on Carl Hiaasen’s New York Times bestselling novel, Bad Monkey‘s second season will present a new original story, the specifics of which are under wraps. The first season introduced viewers to Andrew Yancy (Vaughn), who has been bounced from the Miami Police Department and is now a health inspector in the Keys. But after stumbling upon a case that begins with a human arm fished up by tourists, he realizes that if he can prove murder, he’ll be back in. He just needs to get past a trove of Floridian oddballs and one bad monkey.
In addition to Vaughn, the first season was led by L. Scott Caldwell, Rob Delaney, Meredith Hagner, Natalie Martinez, Alex Moffat, Michelle Monaghan, Ronald Peet, Jodie Turner-Smith, with special guest star Ortiz and guest stars Zach Braff, Ashley Nicole Black, Scott Glenn and Charlotte Lawrence in her television debut.
Hailing from Warner Bros. Television, Bad Monkey was developed by executive producer and showrunner Bill Lawrence through his Doozer Productions. Jeff Ingold, Matt Tarses (Scrubs), Vaughn, Liza Katzer and Adam Sztykiel are also executive producers.
