Mike Epps Announces Fifth Netflix Comedy Special “Delusional” Premiering Jan. 27th

Comedian Mike Epps has inked a deal with Netflix for his new comedy specialDelusional, which will premiere on the streamer on January 27.

The special is Epps’ fifth for the streamer, following Ready to Sell Out (2024), Indiana Mike (2022), Only One Mike (2019) and Don’t Take It Personal (2015). In it, he discusses how a little delusion and a lot of hustle made him a star.

The special is directed by Royale Watkins, who produced alongside Ron Allchin. Epps exec produced alongside Mark A. Ritchie, Thomas Cobb, Niles Kirchner, Kyra Epps, and Watkins, with Southpaw Productions as the production company.

A veteran comic who launched his stand-up career back in 1995 with an appearance on HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, which he’d go on to host years later, Epps has put out six specials to date, the others being Under Rated… Never Faded & X -Rated and Inappropriate Behavior. Recently, he’s starred in and produced Netflix’s The Upshaws, a sitcom about a working-class family, set in his Indiana hometown, which was nominated for 10 NAACP Image Awards, with Epps winning for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series in 2024.

Epps has also been seen on shows like I’m a VirgoSurvivor’s Remorse, and Winning Time, among others. Notable film credits include Snoop Dogg’s The Underdoggs, Kenya Barris’ You PeopleDolemite Is My Name opposite Eddie Murphy, Troop ZeroThe Last Black Man in San Francisco, HBO’s Emmy-winning biopic BessieGirls Trip, and multiple installments in the Hangover and Resident Evil franchises, to name just a few.
