The official trailer for The Prospect, the highly anticipated new comedy starring breakout talent Rishi Mahesh and directed by filmmaking duo Dana Donnelly and Robert Schultz, has been released today, offering audiences a hilarious first look at one of the most talked-about independent films of the year.
The film is set to premiere on Digital and DVD to buy or rent on February 3.
When high school senior Jerry Vanetti gets rejected from every college he applied to, he desperately hatches a scheme to pose as an elite baseball prospect in order to trick a school into giving him an athletic scholarship…despite the fact that he has never played a sport in his entire life. From bribing the AV club to make a fake highlight reel with special affects to getting the theatre department to act out a baseball game, this small town kid will do whatever it takes to scam his way to the big leagues.
Directors Dana Donnelly and Robert Schultz bring a bold, cinematic vision to The Prospect, crafting a world that feels both intimate and dangerous. Their collaborative style shines in the trailer, promising a film that is as visually compelling as it is emotionally gripping.
With its timely themes, striking visuals, and breakout lead performance, The Prospect is poised to become a must-see release this winter.
The Prospect will be available to buy or rent on Digital platforms and DVD beginning February 3. The official trailer is now available online.
