Roommates, produced by Happy Madison Productions, is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on Tuesday, April 17, according to the streaming platform.
The comedy film follows college freshman Devon, who asks the confident and cool Celeste to be her roommate before their budding friendship begins to unravel.
The cast includes Sadie Sandler, Chloe East, Billy Bryk, Sarah Sherman, Natasha Lyonne, Nick Kroll, and Storm Reid.
Production on the film was first announced in July 2025, when the project entered development.
Filming took place largely in Jersey City and other parts of Hudson County, which doubled as the setting for the fictional college campus, according to the entertainment site What’s on Netflix.
Cameras began rolling on June 24, 2025 and continued through mid-August, with residents spotting crews filming at several locations around the county, the outlet reported.
