Ramy Youssef has announced Ramy Youssef: In Love as the title for his third hour-long HBO Original comedy special, unveiling a first trailer and revealing that the hour will premiere on HBO Friday, April 17 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. It’ll also be available to stream on HBO Max.

In the special, filmed at The Hideout in Chicago, Youssef playfully engages with the audience as he approaches a vast spectrum of personal topics, ranging from his marriage to AI, religion and being a dog parent, under the belief that you can find light and hope in all things if you just try to see them through a lens of love.

A production of his Cairo Cowboy, the special is performed, written, and executive produced by Youssef. Christopher Storer, who brought Youssef aboard to direct a Season 2 episode of his FX series The Bear that earned Emmy and DGA Award nominations, directed and exec produced the special alongside Tyson Bidner and Josh Senior.

Nina Rosenstein, EVP, HBO Programming, Late Night & Specials, said, “Ramy’s third HBO special feels like a homecoming — for him, and for us. He has this rare ability to make a room feel like it’s just you and him and then uses that closeness to say something that catches you completely off guard. Filming inside a small, Prohibition-era bar in Chicago only deepens that intimacy — it has a lived-in, timeless quality to it, and the result is a special that feels completely and unmistakably Ramy.”

Youssef released his last two HBO specials, Feelings and More Feelings, in 2019 and 2024, respectively. He earned Golden Globe, Critics Choice Award, and WGA Award noms for the latter and has also recently been in business with HBO as one of the stars of Jesse Armstrong’s Mountainhead, for which he earned a Critics Choice Award nomination.

Best known for creating, producing, directing and starring in Hulu’s Peabody Award-winning comedy series Ramy, Youssef more recently co-created, exec produced and starred in #1 Happy Family USA, an adult animated series produced by A24 and his Cairo Cowboy, which premiered on Prime Video in April.
