Arguably the number one comedy series of 2020 is set to return for part two of its second season in early December.
Hulu has released the full trailer for the upcoming second part of Pen15 Season 2, which is scheduled to make its return on December 3. The video teases new teenage problems that Anna and Maya will have to go through in the new episodes which include dealing with high school boyfriends, trying to get their first phone, and running away from home.
Pen15 is described as an R-rated “traumedy” set in middle school as it really happened in the year 2000. The series is created, written, and executive produced by Maya Erskine, and Anna Konkle, who both play versions of themselves as thirteen-year-old outcasts, surrounded by actual thirteen-year-olds. In this world, seventh grade never ends and the pains of growing up are inevitable.
Directed and written by Konkle, the upcoming animated special is expected to pick up after the events of Season 2, Part 1’s finale, and will feature a combination of live-action and animated elements.
The series is currently nominated for three Emmy Awards including Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series, and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series for Erskine’s worked on episode 2.06 titled “Play.”
