Netflix has officially renewed its hit comedy competition series Funny AF with Kevin Hart for a second season following a successful inaugural run that culminated with comedian Ron Taylor being crowned the show’s first-ever champion during a live finale at Netflix Is a Joke Fest 2026.
The renewal arrives as the series and its host, Kevin Hart, enter awards season with Emmy consideration in major categories. Funny AF with Kevin Hart is being campaigned for Outstanding Reality Competition Program, while Hart is in contention for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program.
Expected to premiere in 2027, Season Two will once again feature live episodes and real-time audience participation, allowing Netflix members around the world to help determine the winner through global voting.
An uncensored comedy competition unlike any other, Funny AF with Kevin Hart brings together rising stand-up comedians from across the country, each hoping to make the same leap Hart once did—from ambitious comic to household name. Throughout the season, contestants are challenged to prove themselves in front of industry veterans while navigating the highs, lows, and unpredictable realities of a career in stand-up comedy.
Joining Hart throughout the competition is a rotating panel of comedy heavyweights who help determine which performers advance, offering viewers an unprecedented behind-the-curtain look at the pressure, triumphs, creative breakthroughs, and occasional bombs that shape the journey of every comedian. The series builds toward high-stakes live finales where a global audience ultimately decides who earns the title and career-changing victory.
The show’s first season proved to be a breakout success, remaining in Netflix’s Top 10 for more than three consecutive weeks and further solidifying Hart’s position as one of the platform’s most reliable stars. Over the last two years alone, Hart’s Netflix titles have collectively generated more than one billion views, making him one of the streaming giant’s most-watched entertainers.
With the success of its debut season and the crowning of Ron Taylor as its inaugural winner, Funny AF has quickly established itself as a major new showcase for emerging comedic talent while giving audiences a front-row seat to the next generation of stand-up stars.
Funny AF with Kevin Hart is produced by Hartbeat and Alfred Street Industries. Executive producers include Kevin Hart; Jane Lipsitz, Dan Cutforth, Nan Strait, and Dan Volpe for Alfred Street Industries; Luke Kelly-Clyne, Meghan Hoffman, and Jeff Clanagan for Hartbeat; and Jenny Groom.
Additional details regarding Season Two, including audition information, celebrity judges, and premiere dates, will be announced at a later date.
