Jo Ellis welcomes Angelina Martin, Rachel McMillen and Sami Blumenthal for stand-up, confessions, bizarre DMs and an anything-goes audience Q&A

Friendly Fire with Jo Ellis is back with Episode 5, bringing another unpredictable night of stand-up, interviews, games and late-night chaos from The Creek and The Cave in Austin, Texas.

Hosted by comedian Jo Ellis, Friendly Fire combines the energy of a live comedy show with the anything-can-happen atmosphere of late-night television. Episode 5 pushes that formula even further as Ellis welcomes comedians Angelina Martin, Rachel McMillen and Sami Blumenthal for a night that gets increasingly weird—and increasingly hilarious.

Ellis kicks things off by breaking down some of the latest comedy headlines before Angelina Martin joins her for a brand-new game, “Guess the Confession.” The two are presented with outrageous personal stories and must determine which confessions are actually true and which one is completely fabricated.

From there, Rachel McMillen and Sami Blumenthal hit the stage for stand-up performances before sitting down with Ellis for conversations covering everything from sobriety and dating to Judaism, comedy, food therapy, Kill Tony and the strange experiences that come with navigating life as a working comedian.

But Sami isn’t finished.

Blumenthal sticks around for the debut of “Weird DMs,” a new segment in which she and Ellis dig into some of the strangest unsolicited messages they’ve received online. Among the digital treasures is an eight-minute original song sent by one exceptionally dedicated fan, proving once again that sometimes the internet provides comedians with material they could never write themselves.

The episode closes by turning the spotlight toward the audience. An unsuspecting attendee is selected from the “Brain Bucket” before the entire group comes together for an uncensored audience Q&A.

What follows is pure Friendly Fire.

The conversation ricochets through Oreos, sobriety, dating, sex advice, UT football, relationships, men and plenty of topics nobody could have possibly predicted when the show started.

Filmed live at The Creek and The Cave in Austin, Friendly Fire with Jo Ellis is a late-night comedy experience built around comedy headlines, stand-up performances, candid interviews, original games, audience participation and live music from the Friendly Fire Band.

With Ellis steering the madness, Episode 5 demonstrates exactly what makes the series work: talented comedians, unpredictable conversations and just enough structure for everything to completely go off the rails.

Friendly Fire with Jo Ellis – Episode 5 is a celebration of stand-up comedy at its most spontaneous, strange and unapologetically fun.
